plot : 

Ghost Hunt mengikuti petualangan berburu hantu Mai Taniyama, seorang mahasiswa tahun pertama sekolah tinggi, yang menjadi terlibat dengan Shibuya Psychic Research Center (SPR) dan manajer muda, Kazuya Shibuya. Julukan Mai Kazuya Shibuya "Naru" karena sikap narsistik, dan julukan umumnya diadopsi oleh semua orang yang datang untuk akhirnya bekerja dengan SPR: seorang biksu Buddha, Houshou Takigawa, seorang gadis kuil, Ayako Matsuzaki,  seorang psikis terkenal, Masako Hara ; Pastur, John Brown.

Ghost Hunt juga menjajaki kemampuan paranormal karakter, terutama berfokus pada Mai "latent psychic abilities," ditunjukkan oleh dia bermimpi tentang informasi yang relevan dengan kasus mereka. Dia sering masuk dalam mimpinya oleh seseorang yang ia menganggap menjadi Naru bertindak sebagai panduan roh, tetapi yang kemudian diturunkan menjadi seseorang yang sangat tak terduga
